The game is simple enough. The player gets to control a red ball which he has to navigate downwards through the gap of each platform endlessly ! The ball can be controlled either by the accelerometer, the touchscreen or the keys/TrackBall.
Along the way, the player can pick up bonuses in the form of stars. This can be done in two ways. Firstly, by dropping through the gap of more than one platform directly, without bouncing on any of the platforms earns you 1 Star. Secondly, bounce only once on each platform before you drop to the next to collect 2 Stars+.
The more platforms you cross, the faster the game speed, so this is a pretty good test of your reflexes. A change in level is indicated by a change in the color of the background and gives you a heads up of the approaching speed up.
Some might classify Drop as a tech demo that illustrates the accuracy of the Android platform’s accelerometer, thanks to how playing it simply involves tilting your phone while making a little bouncy ball fall between gaps in the platforms. Either way its a good way to kill your time & see how accurate your accelerometer is !
