Motorola considering Windows Phone too?

While Motorola has been a huge part in the Anroid Surge (think the Droid Line), there has been some speculation as to whether they would be looking to add another OS to their line up. Moto used to use Symbian UIQ for a few of their devices a while back, along with a few Windows Mobile devices.

At the Oppenheimer Technology & Communications Conference, Motorola’s CEO Sanjay Jha said “I think we’re completely open to the notion of Windows as a platform”. What’s even more interesting is that he would be interested in WP7 ONLY if they had the same “special” status that Nokia currently has in the Windows Phone OEM list. Nokia has permission to customize Windows Phone, which currently, no other OEM is allowed to do. While this helps prevent a fragmented User Experience, it makes it harder to distinguis between devices.

Mr. Jha also said that it’s currently a batle for third place between RIM (BB OS or QNX, you pick), WebOS and Windows Phone.

So what do you think? A Moto Blur’d (Oops… there is no Blur!) Windows Phone 7 device?
