Need to pick an Android phone? Ask Google!

Looking at buying an Android phone? Not sure what to get? Well, Google has you covered again! The old portal that sold the Nexus One,, now shows all the info you need! It’s called the Google Phone Gallery, and depending on where in the world you are, it’s quite awesome!

You can search by Region, Carrier, Device Manufacturer, and also compare!

Right now it only shows details for Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Singapore, United Kingdom and the US.

Google also says, in their Official Mobile Blog Post, that:

Here at Google, we’re thrilled with the global adoption of Android and with the high quality of devices that are coming to market around the world. Since there are so many great phones, we wanted to make the selection process a little easier for people who are in the market for a new one. Today we’re rolling out the Google Phone Gallery — a showcase of Android-powered devices that deliver the best Google experience today. Check it out at

All the phones in the gallery include Android Market, Google Search, and other Google Mobile services such as Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. There are tools that make it easy to compare phones side by side: you can filter phones by country, manufacturer, and carrier; view and compare technical specifications and features; and find where each phone is available for sale.

We’ll continue adding phones and countries over time, both to round out the gallery and as new phones come to market.”

I guess that means that phones that have carrier specific software that doesn’t let you choose a google product as default will not show up here.

So it’s a good thing, and hopefully India will be covered soon!
