The big news from Nokia is of course the launch of the much awaited N8. But Nokia has the C6 up its sleeve, scheduled for launch sometime during September this year. We expect the price in India to be around 12000-13000 INR, pretty close to Nokia’s own E52, so that’ll be quite an interesting face-off.
The last phone which had a touch screen and a slide out keyboard was the N97. Unfortunately that phone had its own niggling issues, some of which were sorted by the time the N97 Mini was released. The D-pad was a notable omission from the N97 Mini, but finds its way back on this model.
Hopefully the C6 will be trouble-free, and if it is we’re looking at an ideal business phone with excellent browsing capabilities.

This Nokia C6, Is there a lot that separates this from a N97 Mini? I’m demoing that right now, I have it from Nokia ( http://twitter.com/WOMWorldNokia/status/21327972058 ). I really wish there was a phone w/ a good keypad and pullout slider. At least with my N97 Mini, one handed functionality is really hard
Spec wise they’re almost the same, except the C6 doesn’t have the 30 degree tilt when the keyboard is open, and the C6 lacks the 8GB storage that the N97 mini has. So apart from these and minor refinements in the software I don’t see much difference.
With all the slide out qwerty keyboard phones I’ve tried, including non-Nokia phones, I’ve never been able to use the qwerty with one hand :)
