Edit:A clarification on the subject of the N8 being the last device on the Symbian^3 platform, the Nokia folks mentioned that the N8 would be last N-Series device with the Symbian OS.  Thanks to Tulsidaskhan99 for pointing that in the comments below.

  1. I think u people don't read the articles properly. Nokia said N8 will be the last symbian^3 device on n-series.
They never said it will be last S^3 device n recent article of Nokia CEO, he said nokia plan to sell 50million S^3 devices.
    So, pls correct ur article.

  2. One more note concerning your clarification:

Like Tulsidaskhan99 mentioned correctly: “Nokia said N8 will be the last Symbian^3 device on N-series”. That does not mean that N8 would be the last N-serie device running Symbian OS.
There still can be Symbian^4 OS running in the future N-serie devices.

Check comment from Anssi Vanjoki:” The Nokia N8 will be our only Nseries device on Symbian^3. Of course, we ‘never comment on future products’, but a Symbian^4 Nseries device is a strong possibility. A very strong possibility ”

  3. True, but till the possibility becomes reality, we’re keeping our fingers crossed. We’re still waiting to see how MeeGo takes off and whether it’ll scavenge the Symbian platforms, or if Symbian can out do MeeGo and take over its lost market.
