Nokia’s Developer Forum has a contest running for developers, where they have a chance of winning  a share of cash and prizes worth a total of one million euros. The Create 4 Millions contest is targeted towards development of apps for Nokia’s Series 40 phones in the following categories:

  • In the Know – Series 40 web apps focusing on news and location-based information.
  • Fun & Games – Series 40 games and entertainment apps (either Java-based or web apps) that will fill those spare moments during the day with amusing, unforgettable diversions.
  • Emotional Closeness – Social networking apps that are developed either as Series 40 Java apps or web apps.
  • Access to Knowledge – Life improvement apps (e.g., education, health, etc.), and in this category we’ll accept either Series 40 Java apps or web apps, too.
For each of the four contest categories listed above, there are 10 cash prizes, with a top prize of 50,000 euros in each category! The top apps in each category will also win a variety of other prizes, including professional user experience reviews and app marketing assistance.
This is a chance for Symbian, Web and Java developers to start developing for the Symbian 40 platform for which apps have shown more than 30% increase in downloads on Nokia’s Ovi Store.
For more information about this contest and details on how to enter, check out the Create 4 Millions information page on the Nokia Developers site.
