Nokia Play To – Wireless sharing to your Home Theatre system

Forget connecting your phone to your PC to transfer videos or photos. You can even throw away that HDMI cable, if your phone comes with HDMI out. If your Home Theatre system is DLNA compliant, you can now get your Nokia phone to send images and videos wirelessly to your TV using Nokia Play To.

Just out in Nokia Beta Labs, if you are an owner of a Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01 or Nokia X7, you can try out the beta version of Play To on your device. To get it working, you’ll first have to ensure you have a DLNA compliant device and a WiFi connection in your home so that your phone can transfer data to your DLNA compliant appliance. Then head over to Nokia Beta Labs and download the Play To app.

Once you launch the app on your phone, it’ll detect any DLNA device which are connected to your home WiFi network. Once it’s detected, you can start sharing the media from your phone on those devices. As easy as that. Here’s a video from Nokia Beta Labs showing you how it’s done.
