Nokia rolls out updates for Symbian 3.2 and 5.0 devices

Good news everyone! Nokia hasn’t forgotten the phones you’ve bought and have been using for the past few years. They’ll finally be getting a seemingly major overhaul with regards to their operating system. This is an excellent move by Nokia considering the current beating Symbian has been taking by virtually every other OS in the mobile phone market.

One of the biggest updates will be the native browser v7.3, there will be updates to Ovi Maps as well. The browser is a major overhaul from the previous version which used to be included in Symbian, the new browser comes with IPV6 support and International domain names which include non-english characters like Chinese and Arabic.

Currently the updates are out only for the C6-00 and the 5230, we tried out the update on the Nokia 5230 and the response was immediate, the phone was immediately faster. More updates on that over the next few days. Personally I’m really looking forward to the E72 update, expect a mini review on that when the update is finally out.
