If you’re a world traveller or are interested in checking out travel spots around the world, here’s an iPad app you’ve got to try out. Travel company Abercrombie & Kent have released a travel application for iPad that delivers an immersive experience while checking out places to visit around the world. You can also add places to visit to your travel wish list and share it with your friends.
The home page of the app features a mosaic of experiences which you can pan around and explore. Clicking on an image transfers you to that travel experience. Interspersed throughout the mosaics are 26 inspiring videos called “Virtual Visits”, designed to provide an immersive experience.
Another cool feature this app provides is the ability for you to create a personalized travel map by flagging all the countries and exporting this Google Maps for you to get a satellite tour of all your destinations.
More about the app and how to get it right after this video showing you the app in action.
“Abercrombie & Kent was one of the first travel companies to recognize the power of the Internet,” explains Abercrombie & Kent USA president Scott Wiseman, who was closely involved in developing the new app. “We made destination content available online long before others, including suggested itineraries, weather charts, visa requirements and health information. We were also the first to deliver travel documents via Kindle. World of A&K for iPad is a phenomenal way for travellers to find inspiration for their next trip of a lifetime, and to share their love of travel with family, friends and social networks.”
